Ultimate Playlist Ideas To Instantly Energize Your Mood Midlife

If you were a fly on the wall in my house, you’d probably catch a scene (or two!) straight out of a sitcom.

🎬 😅 Scene 01: My hubby’s talking to me — thinking I’m listening — while I’m deeply engrossed in someone else’s story or expertise. AirPods in, nodding along like I’m the best listener ever… until he asks a question. Oops. Sorry, not sorry.

🎬 😎 Scene 02: Then there’s me — belting my lungs out (totally off-key) in the basement, dancing in front of a mirror like I’m Madonna from the ’80s (layered jelly bracelets, lace gloves, and all).

True story: one of my daughters once recorded me singing Mariah Carey’s “Joy to the World.” It was gloriously awful. I sounded terrible… but in my heart, I was right there with Mariah’s backup gospel choir, belting it like the basement roof was about to open straight up to heaven. 🎤✨

Honestly? Dancing is one of my easy buttons for joy. I don’t need anyone else at my party — just me, some good tunes, and a moment when my body, mind, or soul remembers:

You create your emotions, including your happiness. 😁

So I’m sharing two of my favorite ways to lift your vibe — one for your body, one for your mind, both for your soul — Soulfull Medicine.

Soulfull Medicine is whatever fills your soul or stretches it to grow — like a:
🕺 Dance that shakes off stress.
🎙️ Conversation that reminds you you’re not alone.
🥰 Moment you pause, release fear, and choose love again.

Give yourself permission for more soulfull medicine midlife. 💛

Because joy isn’t something you find someday — it’s something you create, every single day (or every time you press play!)

🕺 The Soulfull Medicine | Dance Playlist

Dr. Sue’s musical mood booster — dance it out, Mama.

Listen on Spotify

In midlife, when everything else seems to be calling louder for your attention, dancing in your kitchen (or basement 😆) is a rebellious act of self-love

This playlist, first created by one of my daughters (a true Giver Mama), has been lovingly expanded by the Soulfull Membership Community over the years. It’s become a go-to source for turning any “meh” moment into a mini celebration.

📝 Fun fact — fun isn’t frivolous; it’s fuel. Every time you sing, sway, or shimmy, your brain releases dopamine, serotonin, and endorphins — the feel-good trio that sparks motivation, boosts creativity, and deepens connection.

So crank it up. Belt it out. Feel ridiculous and free. It’s medicine. 💛

🎙️ The Soulfull Medicine | Podcast Guest Playlist

Dr. Sue’s guest podcast appearances — soulfull, wise, and real.

How about a little soul food for your ears? 🎧

I’ve been lucky enough to join some amazing podcast hosts lately — talking about everything from morning rituals to the art of letting go.

I’ve queued up all my guest podcast appearances in one easy playlist so you can find them at your fingertips. (And yes, more are coming — so keep checking back!) 🤩

Honestly, it’s hard to pick a favorite. I met a new friend on The Chakra Way Meditation with Rosanne — we literally WhatsApp across the pond daily about all things manifestation.

My jaw is still on the floor from the Tarot synchronicity of Carrie’s Strength tattoo story on Carrie’s Always Talking. 😳

Jessica’s openness about midlife fears on Life After Trauma is so heartwarming, and no doubt spirit flows between Nelieta and me on One Degree to Victory.

And I still laugh thinking about Ryan on The Morning Upgrade doing jazz hands as a tool to break out of a crappy thought loop. 😂

There are too many funny stories to count — like when Jori introduced me on Thirty Minutes of Power, and I was so “sold” on her delivery I said, “I’m going wherever Jori’s going!”

And then there’s my very first podcast ever, years ago, with my soul sister Dr. Laura on Soul Inspired Gurl. My vulnerability was so wide open I’m not sure I can even listen to it yet — all those tears were… well, a lot. 🥹 And truthfully, healing.

I could go on, but I’ll stop there and let you hear it for yourself.

So go ahead — press play on some midlife magic. Listen while you walk, drive, or need a quick perspective shift. You never know which story will be the one that lights you up.

Every laugh, tear, or move that sneaks out mid-dance or mid-drive is a reminder — you are both the music and the medicine.

Let your Soulfull Medicine do what it does best — bring you home to yourself. 💛

xo,

P.S. What song always lifts your mood? (Me 👀 super curious!) Drop it in the comments — we might just add it to the Soulfull Medicine Dance Playlist! 💃🪩🕺
